How To Open A Register

Overview

Opening a cash register in Punchey ensures your point-of-sale interface is ready to process transactions at the start of your business day. This guide walks you through each step—from locating the register within the app to verifying your opening balance—so you can begin taking payments with confidence and accuracy.

Steps:

1. Click the blue “Register” button at the top of the screen, to the right of the search bar. 

2. Locate the register on the list that you wish to open. 

3. Click the blue “Open The Register” button 

4. Count the money in the cash drawer and tally the number of each bill and coin in the Cash Counter form. 

5. If counted correctly and no money is missing, your counting should equal the “Expected opening balance” amount. 

6. Enter your initials and click the blue “Save & Open Register” button. 

7. Now your register should be open and ready to accept process payments.
