Overview

Creating an invoice in Punchey is fast and flexible—whether you're checking out a walk-in client, finalizing a booking, or logging a sale from your CRM. This guide walks you through every step to ensure accurate billing, proper credit, and a seamless payment experience.

Creating an Invoice from the Register (Walk-In Workflow)

Perfect for front-desk staff or high-volume checkouts.

Steps:

  1. Go to the “Checkout” Tab
On the left navigation panel in your Punchey dashboard.

  2. Open a Register
If not already open, select a register. You’ll be redirected to the New Invoice page.

  3. Enter Invoice Details

    • Select or create a customer.

    • Add items or services from the dropdown menu.

    • Specify quantity and pricing.

    • You can also apply taxes, discounts, or notes as needed.

  4. Add an Invoice Note (Optional)
Use the Notes section to include internal instructions, terms, or client-facing reminders
(e.g., “All hardware sales are final.”)
These notes appear on the final invoice.

  5. Choose Payment Option
Click "Accept Payment" to move to the payment screen.

  6. Add a Transaction Description (Optional)
Before proceeding to payment, scroll to the description or note section and enter a brief explanation of the purchase.
This adds context for future reference and appears in your reporting.

  7. Complete Payment

    • Use your integrated POS hardware or enter card details manually.

    • Accept other methods like cash, check, or saved vault cards.

  8. Send Receipt
After the transaction, send the receipt via email or SMS—or print a paper copy.

Pro Tip:

  • Use the Vault: Saving card info streamlines future payments.
